Why do I need a diluent?
Being 100% natural terpenes, The CUT® diluent is excellent for quickly reducing viscosity without adding unwanted flavor or aroma to your final product. It is used with cannabinoid isolates and distillates that are typically maxed out in potency and need an effective cutting agent that will reduce viscosity without significantly lowering the overall potency of the product.
How to use The CUT®
Unlike other viscosity reducing products, The CUT® does not denature or convert to unwanted carcinogenic by-products at higher temperatures, avoiding the known health risks with other carriers and liquidizing products. Below is a step-by-step example for blending with your oils. Depending on your desired viscosity (fluidity), you can easily adjust to your needs.
NOTE: If your formulation exceeds 30% of The CUT® then we suggest using The BASE™ instead. The CUT® is not meant to be a carrier oil.
Formulation example using The CUT®
Using a 90% (900mg/g) D8 Distillate that makes up 80% of the total formula to get a 72% total active content. (0.9 x 0.8 = 0.72)
Our formulation contains a blend of cannabis derived terpenes and natural terpene flavors which will make up 10% of this total formula.
The dilution for this formula will only be 10% of The CUT®. This gives us the viscosity that we need for our particular hardware application to ensure the oil flows properly and doesn't crystallize.
