Lab Effects Terpene
The Many Sides Of Terpenes
Terpenes are aromatic hydrocarbon molecules that fall into a class of compounds made up of linked isoprene unit chains. An isoprene is a common naturally occurring molecule abundant in nature which holds the chemical formula C₅H₈. When two isoprene units link, a monoterpene (C₁₀H₁₆) is formed; a sesquiterpene (C₁₅H₂₄) from three isoprene units, diterpenes (C₂₀H₃₂) from four, triterpenes (C₃₀H₄₈) from six, and so on.
