Gummy Dosing Calculator

Hitting a consistent 10 mg (or 5 mg, or 25 mg) in every gummy comes down to one calculation done right: how much extract goes into a batch of known weight, and how that batch divides into pieces. Our gummy dosing calculator does that math for you and builds the batch sheet to match.

What the gummy calculator works out

  • Extract per batch and per run — grams of distillate, isolate or rosin to add, including an overage to offset process loss.
  • Flavor and terpene load — grams of Lab Effects terpenes or Natural Terpene Flavors as a percentage of total batch weight.
  • Gummy count — total pieces poured, mold fills needed and finished pieces after loss.
  • THC per finished gummy — the actual dose each piece carries once extract and flavor are in the batch.
  • Batch sheet — an editable recipe (sugar, glucose, gelatin or pectin, water, acid) that scales to any number of batches and prints clean for the bench.

How to dose a cannabis gummy batch

  1. Decide the target dose per gummy and know your extract potency from its COA (percent THC or CBD by weight).
  2. Weigh a finished gummy from your mold — typically 2.5–4 g.
  3. Enter batch count, gummy weight and mold cavities. The calculator solves extract and terpenes together so the dose stays on target even after they add weight to the batch.
  4. Add 5–10% overage and record your measured process loss; the finished count tells you what will actually make it to packaging.
  5. Print the batch sheet and weigh to it.

Terpenes and flavors that survive the kettle

Gummies are cooked, so flavor and terpene choice matters. Our terpenes for gummies are selected for heat stability; water soluble terpenes disperse evenly in an aqueous slurry without separating, and Natural Terpene Flavors add fruit and dessert notes without synthetic flavorings. A 0.5–1% load of total batch weight is a common starting point; the calculator rebalances extract automatically when you change it.

Gummy dosing FAQ

How many mg of THC should be in a gummy?

Most recreational markets cap single servings at 10 mg THC and packages at 100 mg; medical and hemp-derived products run higher. Set the target in the calculator and it reports the finished dose per piece, so you can confirm you are inside your state limit after overage.

How much distillate do I need for 100 gummies at 10 mg?

One gram of 90% distillate holds 900 mg THC, so 100 gummies at 10 mg need about 1.11 g before overage. Enter 100 pieces worth of batches in the calculator and it reports the exact grams including your overage percentage.

Why does adding terpenes change my dose?

Terpenes and flavors add weight to the batch, which means each 3 g gummy contains slightly less extract. The calculator solves extract and terpenes together so every piece still carries the target dose.

Can I use this for CBD or CBN gummies?

Yes. Potency is potency — enter your extract’s percentage of the cannabinoid you are dosing and read the results as that cannabinoid.
