Vape Terpene Calculator
Whether you blend by terpene percentage or back into a target potency, the vape terpene calculator gives you the exact grams of terpenes to add to your distillate, live resin or rosin — and tells you what the cart will test at.
What the vape calculator works out
- Terpenes to add in grams, from a percentage of the final blend or of the input oil, or from a target potency.
- Final potency after dilution — terpenes carry no cannabinoids, so every percent of terps lowers THC by weight.
- Cartridges filled and mg THC per cart for 0.5 g and 1 g hardware.
- Input in grams, ounces or kilograms.
What terpene percentage should a vape cart run?
Most distillate carts land between 5% and 10% terpenes by weight. Live resin and rosin often need 2–5% because they retain native terpenes. Our strain profiles are designed around a 6–8% starting point — for example, we suggest 7% for OG Kush. Go higher for a louder nose and lower viscosity; go lower to protect potency on the label. Test for flavor, harshness and leaking, then adjust in 1% steps.
Viscosity, diluents and carrier oils
If your oil is too thick to wick, The CUT® Terpene Diluent thins without flavor; The BASE™ Vape Carrier Oil stretches high-potency input. Both dilute potency the same way terpenes do — add their weight to the terpene percentage in the calculator to see the combined effect. For strain-true flavor, choose from 55+ Cannabis Derived Terpene profiles or browse everything in terpenes for vapes.
Vape terpene FAQ
How many grams of terpenes for 100 g of distillate at 8%?
As a percentage of the final blend, 100 g × 0.08 ÷ 0.92 = 8.70 g. As a percentage of the input oil, it is a flat 8.00 g. The calculator shows both and lets you pick which convention your SOP uses.
Will adding terpenes lower my THC percentage?
Yes. 90% distillate with 8% terpenes (of final blend) tests around 82.8% THC. Enter your target potency instead and the calculator solves the terpene load that gets you there.
Should terpenes be measured by weight or volume?
By weight. Terpene density runs roughly 0.85 g/ml, so measuring by volume over-doses by about 15%. All inputs here are by weight.
Does the calculator work for live resin and rosin?
Yes. Enter the concentrate weight and its tested potency. Start at the low end of the range since native terpenes are already present.
