Terpene Recipe: Vodka Raspberry Mint Lemonade with Limonene

Terpenes are perhaps best known for giving plants their recognizable flavors and aromas, but their value doesn’t end there. Chefs and mixologists around the world have started taking notice of these powerful scent molecules and recognize the impact they can have as unique additives in culinary creations. Just a few drops of terpenes have the ability to transform a dish, by both infusing it with flavor and also increasing the food or beverage’s therapeutic effects.

One of these such culinary innovators is Travis Petersen, also known as The Nomad Cook, and he has been working in tandem with our team here at Lab Effects to experiment with utilizing terpenes in dishes and beverages. We will be featuring his curated selection of cocktails here in a series, starting off with this spiked lemonade infused with limonene. Tart and fruity, we found the limonene cuts the sweetness of the lemonade, adding a grounding sophistication to this refreshing beverage.
