WHAT ARE CANNABIS DERIVED TERPENES (CDTS)?

Cannabis-Derived Terpenes are essential oil extracts taken directly from the cannabis plant. Each blend contains a complex mix of terpenes, esters, ketones, aldehydes, and other natural, volatile compounds that define a strain’s distinctive aroma, flavor, and effects. They do not contain THC, CBD, or other cannabinoids.

Because CDTs preserve the full spectrum of these natural compounds, they capture the authentic sensory profile of the original strain, making them ideal for brands aiming to replicate true strain character in vape, edible, and topical formulations.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CANNABIS DERIVED & BOTANICAL DERIVED TERPS

Cannabis-Derived Terpenes (CDTs) offer the most authentic replication of cannabis aroma profiles, flavors, and effects because they contain the complete, pure cannabis essential oil extracted from the plant.

In contrast, Botanically Derived Terpenes (BDTs) mimic strains by blending isolated terpenes from non-cannabis sources. While effective, they lack the additional cannabis compounds, such as esters, aldehydes, ketones, and flavonoids, that shape a strain’s full aroma profile. As a result, BDTs can approximate a strain’s character but can’t fully reproduce its true complexity.

This means CDTs are the most effective choice for crafting strain-specific, high-quality cannabis products. If authenticity is central to your brand and product line-up, CDTs will deliver the best results.

DO CDTS CONTAIN CANNABINOIDS, LIKE THC OR CBD?

No. All of our CDTs are duel-extraced and completely free of cannabinoids, including THC and CBD. They contain only terpenes and other aromatic compounds naturally found in cannabis essential oils that contribute to aroma profiles. All cannabinoids are removed during processing, ensuring our CDTs are compliant for use in a wide range of formulations.

HOW DO I USE CANNABIS DERIVED TERPENES FOR CARTS & VAPES?

Cannabis-Derived Terpenes are ideal for vape cartridges as they blend easily with vape oils and distillates, allowing precise control over terpene and cannabinoid profiles.

For best results, we recommend combining CDTs with a diluent such as The Cut™ or a carrier oil like The Base™. These all-natural, high-quality products provide flexibility to fine-tune your formulation for optimal flavor and delivery.
